The 2014 Old Salt Summer Sea Wall was a blast! It sure was HOT and HUMID, typical July evening … but everyone sweated it out and had fun. It was held at Gator’s Cafe in Treasure Island (John’s Pass). There were families and friends lined up on all the docks and even on the rocky embankment. We had chum bags lining the area to help attract fish and boy did it work! We weighed over 150 fish in 2 hours. The biggest taking 1st place was a 4.88 lb Snook caught by Chris Lalley, 2nd place was a 2.60 lb Flounder caught by “Quaker” Doyle Kato and 3rd Place was a 2.34 lb Sheepshead caught by Aliyah Lai. The smallest fish was a .02 lb Greenback brought to the scale by Justin Leonard and Blake Johnston weighed in the most fish with 9 brought to the scales. A big THANK YOU goes out to BAITMASTERS / Aylesworth’s Fish & Bait for donating all the chum and bait and to Hooks By Ty for donating Hook pendants to the winners!!!
We ended the evening with a small award ceremony and of course a raffle! Our raffle had items from Fisherman’s Ideal Supply House, Reel Life Gear, Eagle Claw hooks and of course MirrOlure products. Dogfish Tackle company donated a dogfish stix for our Member’s Only Door Prize which was won by long time member Ron Morris.
The next Sea Wall Tournament is October 14th, 2014.
