Summer Kids Fishing Camp

Summer Kids Fishing Camp

It’s summertime and the fishing is good. At least, that is, for the kids attending summer camp at the Madeira Beach Recreation Complex.

Volunteers from Old Salt Fishing Foundation set up, manned, cut bait, baited hooks, helped land catches and directed two fun filled days of fishing camp for the kids attending the summer program in Madeira Beach.

The camp, held on the seawall at the rec center, was split by age (young kids and older kids) and held over 2 days, on June 24th and 25th. Old Salt went one step further and treated the kids who were not fishing on either day (both groups) to a trip to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. It was a very full 2 days.

Old Salt, its volunteers, partners & sponsors work hard every year to get as many kids on the water with a fishing pole as we are able. This is just one of the several events we run to “take a kid fishing”.
