This past King of the Beach was thrilling from all aspects. Nice (sunny) weather, 400 pumped up fishing teams, raffles, food of all types and more, just a good time overall! Our goal is to give everyone a fun and unique experience at Old Salt events and tournaments. As people walk through the event they can visit with different art and marine vendors local boat dealerships, grab a bite to eat or play in one of our many raffles. New to the Old Salt family this Spring was Tom George Yacht Group a local boat dealership out of Dunedin.

Having a boat on display at an Old Salt event is different then displaying at a “boat show” for our sponsors and the general public. The crowd is in a great mood, relaxed and ready to chat. Spectators and anglers were able to jump on-board one of the three TGYG boats on-display and check out the great lines they carry. This gives our sponsors a great opportunity to meet new people and get to know them in a fun atmosphere without any of the pressure of sales for either side.

Tom’s career in yacht sales began in 1988 when the founder and current CEO of MarineMax recruited him to sell Sea Rays. He quickly became a top seller both at MarineMax and worldwide for Sea Ray. In 1998, he successfully began selling Hatteras yachts, receiving their “Distinguished Sales Achievement” award eleven years in a row. In 2004, Hatteras presented him with the “Salesman of the Year” award followed by the “Top Gun” in 2006 and the prestigious “Tony Pasca Memorial” award in 2007 for exhibiting the most passion and pride as a yacht salesman.
