The next best (some say the best, period) thing to catching Snook is cooking up and eating Snook.
Long gone are the days when Florida anglers teased uninitiated out-of-towners with the old “Snook as “Soapfish” meme. Snook is, and always has been, one of the tastiest catches you can land. *Unless you are the author and can’t seem to land one to save your life….
So, since I seem unable to bring home my own Snook and it cannot be purchased over the counter…. we’ll just have to get creative this month for the “recipe” post. I pulled together several links to videos that talk Snook. Enjoy!
Catch Snook: Capt. Ken Hudson & Darci Arahill offer up an engaging and informative Snook fishing video from a couple of years ago. Check out Ken and Darci fishing for Snook.
Cook Snook: This beaut of a recipe over at Florida Sportsman caught my eye recently. Pan Seared Snook with Jalapeno Cream Sauce and Seafood Risotto. If you follow any of my recipe slinging, you know this is right up my alley. With any luck, I’ll haul in a keeper this season and try this one out myself. Check out this Snook recipe at Florida Sportsman.
Snook – The Whole Enchilada: The Bullbuster Team (the fishing line folks) pulled together an awesome collection of YouTube videos that walk you through catching, filleting, and cooking op some Snook. Check out the Bullbuster article and videos here
I hope you enjoy the links above. Be on the lookout next month for new recipes from the Salt.
