March 17th, 2018 we were blessed to be part of the 2nd Annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampabay Fishing Clinic.  It was held at beautiful ROC Park. We had great weather and an awesome bunch of kids out fishing, many for the fist time.  Read the letter below, Jennifer of BBBSTB says it best:

A letter from Jennifer Libby, Senior Vice President of Programs and Big Sister

We had our 2nd annual BBBSTB Fishing Clinic this past Saturday at Roc Park in Madeira Beach sponsored by the Old Salt Fishing Foundation. We had 75 matches attend and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day. It was many of our Littles and some of our Bigs first time fishing. The Old Salt Fishing Foundation sponsored the event and had volunteers who helped the matches fish and all our Littles received a fishing pole to keep and a goody bag with a tackle box inside. Our matches had a great time and many Littles caught their first fish. It really was a wonderful day and this email I got from a Big Brother Joe definitely sums it up.

“I’d like to thank you and the team for putting on such a great event this morning. Kaeden immediately wanted to tell all of his friends he had so much fun. It was his first time ever fishing, let alone catching one! “

Big Thanks to the Old Salt Fishing Foundation for their support and for hosting this special event. Thank you to Mitchell Shenkman who helped coordinate and organize the event and for his support. Mitchell was even able to get wristbands donated for our Littles to go on rides for free at the Gulf Beaches Rotary Carnival that was at Roc Park that started after the Clinic. Thank you to the BBBSTB staff who helped work the event- Cathleen and her husband, Lynette and her son Daniel, and Mindy. Thanks to Jack for coming and taking pictures of the event and a video (click here to view).

We are already looking forward to next year.

We also want to give a shout out and huge THANK YOU to all the helped.  Aylesworth Fish & Bait provided the squid and chum,  Kilwin’s donated fresh saltwater taffy,  Bimbo Bakeries donated little bites and other snacks and Alligator Attraction for some fun green alligator beads just in time for Paddy’s Day.
