Feeling Lucky? Fishing & boating luck and the superstitions that define it are considered by many to determine who becomes the lucky angler and who does not. I worked ocean going tugs some years back and sailed with a mate who was utterly convinced that onions on a boat were bad, very bad, luck. Made the poor cook pitch a whole bag of them overboard once.
There are, it would seem, as many lucky/unlucky items and circumstances for boaters and anglers to deal with as there are boaters and anglers. Whether you fish or just boat you need to start with the big three.
Fruit, hair color and ratty old caps. It can only go up from here, right? Well, maybe and maybe not. For folk who fish, and this is a post about fishing and luck there is an exhaustive list of superstitions and luck “affecting” things to consider well beyond the big three..
