Resolution: the act of resolving or determining upon an action, course of action, method or procedure

If your anything like the rest of us, you have your typical check list of New Years resolutions.

Things like; exercise more, keep more organized, eat healthier, all the things any normal adult over the age of 30 is thinking. Why not add to your list of New Year resolutions something that you love to do, that you have a passion for? Make yourself a “Fishing” resolution for 2016!

So take a moment from you crazy life and stop and think about what kind of fishing do you love to do? What fish is on your bucket list? Do you want to have the unbelievable experience of Marlin fishing in Costa Rica, Redfishing in Louisiana? Or, is it simply, you need to spend more time doing what you love to do. Be on the water with a rod and reel in hand?

Fishing is my “happy place” as, I would imagine it is for many of you reading this article. It doesn’t matter if you’re an inshore or offshore angler it’s the relaxation and decompression time on the water that we as “fishy” people crave in our souls.

So schedule the time, pretend your making a doctors appointment. Add it right into your calendar just as you would anything else. Plan for it and it will happen!

Share your 2016 fishing resolution with us below. We’ll publish a list of resolutions on the Old Salt Facebook Page. And, another fun way Old Salt can help you with your “fishing” resolution is with our Photo of the Week contest. We select the fish for the week and you go target the species. Submit your photo to us and you could win a prize pack or even make into the annual Old Salt calendar.
