It’s trying to cool down the mornings and evenings you can notice a much cooler temperature. The Permit bite still remains really strong still catching 40 lb fish! The cobia have been showing up on the reefs and wrecks more and more each day. I expect another great cobia fall season as last year was epic September/October. The Mangrove snapper bite continues to be very productive with fish up to 5 lbs. More gags are starting to move in shallower with a couple keeper gag grouper lately. The hog fish bite will start really firing off when this water temperature starts to show up as well. I now have my federal reef permit which I can Harvest fish past 9 miles with clients on board.
The Inshore red fishing is as good as it gets with huge schools of slot and over slot redfish. Fun to catch with lures in the kayak and tailing schools of redfish at sunrise or sunset. In the hanson usually fishing live whitebait and chumming up the hungry schools of redfish. Snook also just came into season September 1st. They are starting to make a come back but still not the numbers of snook we had. Many options to choose from Give me a holler to book a September or October charter. I will be out of town 22-29th of September I will be in Maine and Nova Scotia booked a trip with Bruce Brothers for the giant Bluefin tuna.
