On our way to trying to put on the 2020 Spring KING, Old Salt commissioned local artist Monika Urbanska to create an iconic King Mackerel to serve as the foundation piece for all of the tournament design work. Monica delivered in spades, providing the piece you see below.
The original King of the Beach tournament art Monika provided to Old Salt was then employed on brochures, Old Salt website and social media platforms, videos, tournament shirts, hats, buffs, koozies, banners, direct mailers, name badges…. you name it. They become part of the DNA of what would have been the 2020 Spring King of the Beach. See below.
With the cancellation of the 2020 Spring King of the Beach we took some additional liberty and produced a series of “cancelled” apparel to commemorate the occasion of the first KING in 27 years Old Salt has ever had to cancel. These, and the official tournament apparel/gear, are all available in the Old Salt Store.
Monika – The Artist
From her website The Reel Chase: Owner & Artist, Monika, captures the allure of the water through oil & acrylic paint. She is passionate about solutions that benefit the environment and our community. She also works as a Registered Art Therapist and Registered Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida.
Those are awesome credential for sure. At the end of the day, the real creds are found in the art she creates, the actions she performs and the way she conducts herself in general. Creds indeed!
Along with Monika recent King of the Beach tournaments have employed King Mackerel art from the likes of Jessica Shipley, Mutt Hubbard, Mark Ray, Stephen O’Connor, Yusniel Santos, Andrew Samuel Di Piero and more…. many more. We are so fortunate to get to work with such superb talents.
Thank you Monika, for your generosity and creative elan.
