The annual Rotary Club of Clearwater (RCoC) Kingfish Tournament is a solid fixture on Florida’s west coast every spring. For 26 years the Clearwater Rotary’s King Mackerel tournament has opened the season, offering a great tournament experience plus the opportunity to help the Rotarian’s in funding their many deserving charity partners. RCoC has donated over $1 million to their partners over the years and this tournament is one of the key fund generators.
With temperatures in the eastern Gulf of Mexico inching their way into the “Kingfish zone” we can expect another great outing for the teams involved. The past two years have seen 61 and 50 competitive teams fishing the tournament, respectively with winning Kings of 35.70 lbs & 33.10 lbs.
The tournament features 4 divisions: Overall, Spanish Mackerel, Single Engine & Youth and a healthy TWT. The winner in the Overall will take home a cool $5,000 again this year.
